Categories: Art Museums, Museums
Inspirock Rating:
4.9/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web
World-renowned for its Asian and Egyptian collections, The Cleveland Museum of Art remains free to the public, as it was originally intended to be, through one of the largest endowments in the country. The museum has more than 40,000 works permanently on display, along with exceptional traveling exhibitions. The artwork inside the museum and the museum's architecture are often equally enticing for visitors. The building was built in the Beaux Arts style using neoclassical white marble, which has stood the test of time over the last hundred years. The museum and Wade Park, which surrounds it, are currently on the National Register of Historic Places. • Don't miss Cleveland's Museum of Art!!! Beautiful building and setting. A must see when visiting this city.
  • The museum was recently renovated with an outstanding collection housed in one of the best exhibition spaces I've every visited. Definitely worth a visit! And it's free!

  • Well, it's free, for starters. Also, a great museum! Wonderful blend of old and new architecture. Could only spend an hour there, barely scratched the surface. There are good Impressionist and Old Masters galleries.
  • I enjoy going to this place the most when it comes to visiting museums. I practically grew up here, taking art classes every summer as a kid and just exploring. After all these years they still find ways of keeping it fresh and new somehow with thrilling and very well presented exhibitions.
  • Great spot for a day with the family. They have something for everyone here, and the large digital wall is very engaging for little kids (and adults as well, for that matter). The staff was very friendly as well, and their kids activities were a blast.
  • Love this museum. It has do much to see and do. They have a kids section that kept the kiddos entertained for a good hour. Only reason not getting 5 stars is the parking is $10 for 2 hours and $1 for every hour there after. When your expecting free and this gets thrown at you it is aggravating.
  • I come from New York, and comparing CMA with MMA, the main difference is the size of the museum collection. Other than that, CMA rivals all world class museums I've visited I'm terms of organization, facilities, and of course first class architectural design. Don't forget that it is free! Although I was so impressed, I bought membership after the first visit.
