Art Museum Museum
World-renowned for its Asian and Egyptian collections, The Cleveland Museum of Art remains free to the public, as it was originally intended to be, through one of the largest endowments in the country. The museum has more than 40,000 works permanently on display, along with exceptional traveling exhibitions. The artwork inside the museum and the museum's architecture are often equally enticing for visitors. The building was built in the Beaux Arts style using neoclassical white marble, which has stood the test of time over the last hundred years. The museum and Wade Park, which surrounds it, are currently on the National Register of Historic Places. • Very nice museum that I spent several hours at and still didn't see all the exhibits. Quite spacious and didn't feel crowded at all, which was greatly appreciated. The cafe did get a bit crowded when ...  more »

  • Had a great time visiting with my 4 year old niece. We enjoyed looking at the paintings and having lunch. The creamy tomato soup at the cafe was the best tomato soup that I've had in years. Home baked cookies and nice Mediterranean salads. A bit expensive, but for a once and a while treat a nice day out. We enjoyed the museum, while my 10 year old son took his first art class, "Made In America". Overall great day!
  • Beautiful artwork and pieces. We walked around for an hour thinking we saw it all only to realize we only looked at 1 of 4 wings of the building. No charge and yet everything is immaculately taken care of. Hidden sensors guard the pieces so as not to detract from the pieces. I will be back to see the rest.
  • Lots of beautiful art and displays! There are often interesting special exhibits as well. Cafe is slightly over-priced but is super tasty and did not disappoint. The museums main exhibits are free. There is a coat check at the lobby and a parking garage next to the museum. The building itself is gorgeous (especially the open courtyard space)! Definitely worth visiting!
  • What can you say about one of the best, highest rated museum in the country? I have been a member for years and am still amazed every time I visit. Don't even get me started on the events! Chalk Festival is a must see event. Ever want to learn from real artists? Check out the Adult Studios.
  • One of the best art museums in the world - and that's not an exaggeration. Their permanent collection contains some of the finest works of history. An all around asset to Cleveland with great events, special exhibitions, and a fantastic building to explore.
