The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland
(4.9/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
World-renowned for its Asian and Egyptian collections, The Cleveland Museum of Art remains free to the public, as it was originally intended to be, through one of the largest endowments in the country. The museum has more than 40,000 works permanently on display, along with exceptional traveling exhibitions. The artwork inside the museum and the museum's architecture are often equally enticing for visitors. The building was built in the Beaux Arts style using neoclassical white marble, which has stood the test of time over the last hundred years. The museum and Wade Park, which surrounds it, are currently on the National Register of Historic Places. • Excellent collection and free admission. Lots of great programming as well, including the flagship solstice party in the summer. Parking isn't free, but there is either street parking or a garage to choose from. Great views at the Wade Lagoon in front as well
  • A huge permanent collection, an eclectic mix of temporary exhibits (one of my favorite things about the seasons changing in Cleveland is seeing what new exhibit the museum will be showcasing next), absolutely stunning architecture (I could sit inside the atrium and people-watch for hours). Oh, and admission is free? What’s there not to love about this place? Protip: if you want to avoid paying the $10 parking charge at the garage, there are plenty of metered parking spots (free on weekends) on East Blvd. and on almost all of the side streets North and East of Wade Oval.
  • One of the best museums in the region. Very impressive collection housed in very stunning architecture. Asian collection is one of the largest I have seen. Don't miss the Art Lens app and the interactive wall. Admission is Free! About $10 to park in the garage.
  • Yes, it is free. Very nice museum with enough art to occupy one for at least three hours, and that's if they just want to stroll through without really taking time to smell the painted roses. If you're an art lover/ critic/ student/ obsessed consumer, then you can easily spend a whole day here. There is also a neat little cafe, but be aware that they have neat little prices ($$$). If you ask me, there is a stellar hot dog stand right across the street from the main entrance in the park. Definitely hit that up for a Polish dog and an Italian sausage, $2.50 and $3.00 respectively. You won't regret it.
  • I love this place! This has to be one of Cleveland's top gems. It's such a wonderful place to explore and it's architecture will amaze you. Visit The Cleveland Art Museum, admission is free and you'll really enjoy it.
