  • Bottom line: Very hot in the summer. Old but nice history. Worth it if you think the admission is going to maintain and help restore the ship. We got these tickets when we bought our Great Lakes Scien...  read more »

  • I've toured other ships at other cities and this one offers good history about the Great Lakes and the ships that made Great Lakes industries and travel of goods possible. Not a whole lot of interacti...  read more »
  • One of our favorite places! My kids want to come back constantly. The staff is very nice and we love to go out on the Mather (the old cargo ship). The Mather has a museum teaching all about the Great Lakes which is very informative and interactive. The science center itself has tons of interactive and fun stuff for the kids to make and do. The Nasa sections are great, they teach so much about space exploration and life in the international space station, timelines of space exploration and more. It is worth it to buy a membership for the year. It pays for itself after two visits and is a great rainy day activity! Since we joined a month ago my kids have already met an Olympic Gold medalist, and an astronaut at special events for members.
  • I went here on a date with my fiancĂ©e two days ago, and it was a blast! It was just like being a kid again. They have many exhibits and demonstrations that are all fully interactive, which is great for kids and their young scientists' minds. You can let them touch or play on almost anything. I loved the NASA Glen Space section where you could land a lunar lander. Right now they have the Ripley's Believe it or Not exhibit which is just as much a history lesson as a science exhibit, and it too is fully interactive. I highly recommend this for kids, but even adults can have a fun time here.
  • Original Review: Saw they were playing Start Wars, and got all excited about the OMNIMAX. Unfortunately, it was sold out for that date. Being so excited, we went to see their Robots anyway. Pretty good! We didn't go into the science center itself (the expo area), but the place is pretty slick. Gift shop is very reasonably priced, and concessions aren't bad. Check out the pictures, they give a much better idea of the place! Also, bring your ticket to the garage and they discount your parking! :) Update: Had an awesome experience here at the OMNIMAX for the Robot movie, and HAD to see Star Wars in 70mm. Great price for what one gets, at least compared to my local theaters. I was rather flustered with a couple next to me, as they showed up late, and the last 25 minutes of the movie included their personal conversation for 30 seconds every other minute. Not the fault of the OMNIMAX. I advise the second last row, dead center. I'll be honest, I race to this seat. Next to it is an empty space, a great place to set down drinks or a bag, one can lean back (unlike the last row), and this spot is high enough that the safety bar does not impede the view of the screen. I can't wait for the next full feature film here!
  • Imax and steam ship are highlights. Good interactive stuff and play area for younger kids. Mine love it
  • It was fun and the kids had a blast, we enjoyed the omnimax too, except for the climate change propaganda. Honestly, if theyre going to show a movie about the earth cant they leave out climate change bull, whether anyone believes in it or not its just not necessary to squeeze it into the show. But it was a very cool theater tho.
