Heinen's Downtown, Cleveland

Architectural Building · Hidden Gem · Landmark
Downtown Cleveland is the central business district of the City of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, United States. It is the economic and symbolic center of the Cleveland-Akron-Canton, OH Combined Statistical Area. As of 2000, 100,000 people worked in the district; as of 2012, it contained more than 16 million square feet of rentable office space.
Reinvestment in the area in the mid-1990s spurred a rebirth that continues to this day, with the residential population growing from 7,261 in 1990 to 9,599 in 2000 and 11,693 in 2010. It had the largest population growth, by percentage, of any Cleveland neighborhood over that time and is Ohio's most populous downtown. Between 2010 and 2014, it saw more than $4.5 billion in residential and commercial developments. In 2012, Forbes included Downtown Cleveland in a list of "15 U.S. Cities Emerging Downtown".

  • I'm writing this review and thinking it's a bit unfair. We went up to Heinen's for lunch, and their food court is still largely closed. None of the highly-regarded soups. No deli options. You get...  more »
  • This downtown grocery has everything. It used to be a bank & once housed the vaults that contained a lot of the wealth of the Carnegies & Rockefellers. The architecture & murals are stunning in the...  more »
  • This a very interesting building that is actually an over priced grocery store in the middle of downtown. If you enjoy old buildings...this is a mist. The murals are beautiful.  more »
  • This is a wonderful store. I particularly live the options for lunch. You have sushi, sandwiches, rice bowls, soup, salad and so much more. Whenever I can't decide what I want for lunch I head here and there is always something that hits the spot.
  • The freshness of the vegetables, fruits and meats, and the tasteful rewards keeps me coming back. The employees are friendly and helpful all the time. 5 stars are not enough. Very satisfied customer.
  • I worked for the old Cleveland Trust and Ameritrust in the Ninth & Euclid complex. So seeing the former bank as a grocery store was weird at best. Unique but weird. Historic building now a grocery.!!! Sad !!!!!
  • The staff are friendly and profession. This grocery store is new and very modern.Their produce and deli seem very fresh. The entire stores is extremely clean and organized. There is outdoor seating for take out food.The. closeness to The Healthline bus stop is a plus. It is conveniently located to is Down town. They offer a wide variety of name brand and store brand items. The prices rang from than higher than Walmart to comparable to Dave's.
  • Really neat grocery story with really beautiful architecture. They have done a great job doing updates to the building while still keeping the beautiful architecture preserved. They have a really cool wine tasting room upstairs which is a lot of fun! It is a quick stop downtown and I would defiantly recommend this to someone visiting Cleveland!
