Many downtown hotels offer discounted weekend rates and deals that include tickets to some of the city's major attractions, but if you prefer to stay away from the central part of town, consider the neighborhoods east of the Cuyahoga River. • Back when the wildlife area was in the museum's sheltered courtyard, it was a much more peaceful refuge for the animals. Upon my visit to the newly redesigned outdoor area, however, I was saddened by ...  more »

  • The only natural history museum that I have ever visited that included live examples of local fauna. The print was especially airbags. I mean adorable. The naked mole rats were airbags too. Didn't have a hyena petting zoo though, but since hyenas are not native, that is acceptable.
  • Another great museum in Cleveland. They had a fantastic exhibit about food when we were there last. Very interesting and informative. The other exhibits are also very engaging. Certainly a worthy trip for adults and children alike. The newly added outdoor area with animals is also very engaging.
  • Really nice natural history museum. Could easily go through it in a few hours. It was quiet and educational. Smaller than a few other natural history museums from similarly sized cities but has good local plant and fossil sections.
  • Great place for taking people from out of town. The newer outdoor animal exhibit has been a nice addition. The museum exhibits have been around for many years, but they do not look dated.
  • I could stay there all day! So much knowledge to gain. Also, the Perkins Wildlife Center is such a great use of outdoor space and so beautiful!
