  • For a group of 2 adults and three children the cost to participate in zoo encounters could be cost prohibitive for the average family. $34 to 21 per person. We took kids to petting zoo for $10 and $8 ...  more »
  • i was trying to interact with a fenec fox havent had the best of luck. But was able to find a alternative. They have many options and the staff try to accommodate as much as possible.  more »
  • We love this Petting zoo! It's full of amazing animals from the obvious petting animals like Sheep, Goats, etc... but they also conserve many different species such as Wolves, Lions, Kangaroos, Camels...  more »

  • This has definitely been a delightful surprise. The zoo isn't very big, but it has enough animals, to keep your interest peaked. You visit the zoo with a guide (usually every hour a new group goes), and in a small group. Every guide will tell you about all the animals and answer all your questions, which, I'm sure, contributes to the animals appearing stress-free, compared to other zoos. The guide brings food, and most of the animals come up to the fence. So, no lingering around; the walk is about an hour and includes hands-on interaction with a few animals at the end. The petting zoo has lots of animals but our favorite was the enclosed parakeet encounter, for which I highly recommend buying the $3.00 feeding stick. This is great for small, medium, and big kids (aka adults), and I'd highly recommend it. Even the drive through the Georgia mountains to get there, is spectacular and rewarding. My only complaint is that all pictures have the cage and it would be great if somebody could finally come up with a solution to get better shots of the wildlife, and we really couldn't see the otters, the enclosure is not viewer friendly.
  • Our party of 3 adults and 3 kids (6 & 9yrs) really enjoyed the visit. I'd recommend good walking shoes, that you don't mind getting dirty. We paid for the Wildlife Package, and were pleased it came with a full bucket of feed for the petting zoo. Our favorite part was the wild animal walk and animal encounter - the kids petted several new-to-them animals, including an armadillo. I almost bought a chinchilla... So cute.
  • This place was amazing! Brought my daughter on her 3rd birthday, and she had a blast!! She got to pet all kinds of farm animals and feed dozens of beautiful parakeets. She loved the baby pigs the best. It was really hands on. All the employees were so very nice! Just kind folks! They animals are well cared for too. Prices are fair. If your a cheap person like me, 8$ was a steal for the fun we had. Also, the employees were very knowledgeable about the happenings of what goes on around there and informative of all animals. It was a wonderful experience. I wanna come back! & even pay for the other stuff. I would like to add: this is GA, don't think it's some fancy place.. wear ya boots!
  • Well it wasn't the experience the pictures make it out to be... I purchased the sloth encounter for myself and my son for his bday. when I first read about the sloth encounter it was 30 minutes, then in another section it was 20, and then it says else where 10-15 minutes. They also say 6 maximum in the tour...there was 7 in our group. I was disappointed to see the sloth living in a tiny room with a tree painted on the wall, with sticks tied together for climbing. So... all of us are on the porch peeking in, 2 people got to peer through the window, we go in one at a time to feed her an apple slice and pet her. I think we each got 2 slices. That was the tour. I think they should probably hold off doing encounters until they can do a better encounter for the money you spend. I chalk it up as an investment for jubilee...hopefully. But my son got to see and pet a sloth (his fave!)
  • Amazing gem. We had an awesome time with the animals. The otter encounter was a fabulous experience. I almost don't want to tell anyone about it so I can selfishly have more time with the otters.
