  • Not our favorite golfing location, but conveniant. and conditions are improving on the fwys and greens.
  • I went here solely for the driving range. The range is small and average. The course seemed pretty nice. It was in a retirement type community and had to go through a guard getting inside. Seemed like...  read more »
  • This golf course challenges the average golfer. Lots of picturesque water holes that make it tough to par. Greens in good shape, pace was good. Overall, a good course that I'd recommend.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed golfing here. On vacation with family and while golfing at a different course someone recommended we come here and we loved it. True, the tee boxes and greens may still need some work, so don't come here if you're looking for a golf course without any flaws, but for the price it was well worth it. Hole location was well placed and I never had an issue with a putt having to cross a bad spot on a green. From what others have said about the new management you can really see the potential the course has, great holes in a nice environment. People in the pro shop were great, hope to return next time I'm in the area and see the course in even better shape!
  • Arrived for tee time an hour early to hit balls. Range was sufficient like you would find at a muni course. Went off early as the starter wanted us to get in front of members waiting to tee off. Which was nice (kinda) if you get there early enough. Which was not the case for some of our party whom had to go off cold. So, just know that tee times are at the mercy of members, which I hate. Either increase membership fees and keep it all to yourselves or open it to the public and respect the tee times. All the members like to drive their carts onto the green. They post their no cart signs 6 feet from the green so there are no aprons. 1 out of 4 greens had issues and a few of the fairways were just gone. Cart paths are cratered throughout. They should tear them out and put down crushed shell. Lots of potential in a great location. As it stands now I'd play it again but only at a great rate. Had beers at the bar and had a good time. Great staff.
  • Everytime i come in Clearwater for vacation, i play golf at Cove Cay. And everytime, it's a great experience; nice golf course, rates are ok and the staff is awesome. I've played a lot of time at Cove Cay since 3 years and i've saw a lot of improvement by the new owners. Yes there's still some work to do on the course (like every golf course), but in general the course is in very good shape. You also have to try the new menu at the snack bar; very good too. Go and try, you won't be disapointed.
  • Our grandson recently played a Junior golf tournament here. As is our custom, my husband and I attended and followed along in a cart, which we always do. We enjoy being there and giving him support. Normally we pay around $10.00 to rent a cart. The most we ever paid was a total of $20 at a much more prestigious course than this one. We were shocked to say the least when Cove Cay charged $40 for the two of us to share a cart. For $12 more the two of us could have played a round of golf at World Woods! When we contacted the Jr. Golf organization, they, too, were surprised that it was $20 per person. We were extremely disappointed that the course was so unwelcoming. We have scratched it off our list of courses to try. To contrast, one course his high school team played not only charged us only $6 for a cart but also gave the kids free hotdogs and offered them to us as well.
  • I attended most of the clinics October 2015 though April 2016 . It was about a 40 mile round trip for me but well worth the effort. I am reading from my trophy, awarded today: "Mountain Glen (Newland,NC) Club Champion - 9 hole 2016 Mountain Glen Women's golf Association." Thanks, Pat! (And Bill and Matthew) I almost forgot - I'm prone to that these days - I'm 80 years old. Claudia Campbell
