  • I did not hate this museum, but it was largely saved by the Dowton Abbey exhibit. They had the costumes from the show and that was the draw for me. I have been spoiled by going to the Frick in NYC, an...  read more »
  • For the purpose of this trip one went to the Taft Museum of art. It is a small Museum of art is at the end of the street for about 20 minutes on foot from a downtown hotel. It is a small building while watching the building of the big middle, Procter & gamble (P & G) building and the difference remains in the eyes of. However, the beautiful Palladian style has been current since it opened in 1932, 700 points, out of 150 works by European and American paintings, after extension works in 2004, but is still going strong. Went at opening time from my day is Sunday at Downton Abby costume exhibition is admission of the in-situ was refused only with reservation. 粘りましたら came to see this Museum from California, and was an elegant Lady, it is people at least a 3:30 pm and said, please come. The most that was taken as a deposit is $ 20. And in the meantime 3:30 pm, visited the Museum of fine arts, and enjoyed the collection. First of all, the collection is exerted refined, uninteresting paintings never at one point. Germany especially in the 17th and 18th C but less United Kingdom 19C United States and scores were great. In Reynolds and American paintings and then from my favorite in Germany painting by Piero, British painting was impressive homegrown Frank dub neck. 5:00 had had a brief 1:30 of PM reading substantive quality time. It is thanks to the lady that was in it.

  • The Dowton Abbey costume exhibit was great at the Taft Museum. A must see is the Rembrandt! A lovely location in the heart of downtown Cincinnati.
  • Great escape. they have some great artwork and architecture to see. The restaurant has limited food options but everything I ate was great. the staff was very helpful in getting you through the entire exhibit.
  • Saw the Downton Abby exhibit and it was spectacular. Very nicely displayed and dispersed around the museum. Had corroborating pictures of the show's characters wearing the costumes. Explanations helped to,appreciate the significance of the apparel.
  • World-class art brought into a home-scaled setting. You'll not only discover works of the masters and new rotating exhibits (like the costume displays from Downton Abbey) but also that fine art is not only for a gallery wall, but also a way to bring beauty into the home. A terrific cafe and gift shop, too, with hand crafted local art that deserves your time browsing.
  • The Taft Museum is a gem in the heart of Cincinnati. It punches way above it's weight for a small museum. In the past it had a Dutch Masters exhibit which was exceptional. Recently, they had the Daubigny exhibit which is the first of it's kind... anywhere. This wonderful exhibit took 14 years to put together and will only run in 3 locations. Taft is the only museum to get it in North America. We went to the Daubigny exhibit this last weekend. And we stopped in the cafe for lunch. I expected average fare and was I wrong. I had the Daubigny Crepes. They were amazing and if I ordered them at a normal restaurant I'd give that restaurant 5 stars. A wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
  • Easy to miss as it's overshadowed by the larger museums. Really a wonderful place.
