Krohn Conservatory, Cincinnati

(4.6/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
A stunning Art Deco greenhouse is the backdrop for exotic plants at Krohn Conservatory. Completed in 1933, the conservatory is home to more than 3,500 species from around the globe. Visit the Palm House to see the 6.1 m (20 ft) waterfall and goldfish stream, as well as many palm varieties. After checking out the miniature wonders of the bonsai collection, head to the desert garden to see aloes, agaves, and yuccas. The orchid display encompasses hundreds of orchids, including monstera deliciosa--the enormous fruit-salad plant. In the Tropical House, breath in the deep, earthy smell of damp, warm soil and the leafy foliage of banana trees, cycads, and vanilla vines. • It is a beautiful place to visit. Great for couples or family. We like to just sit and look around taking our time enjoying this place!  more »
  • I've been going to Krohn for as long as I can remember. Usually, it's an annual trip during Christmas. However, I decided to pop in on a whim a few weeks ago on a weekday, just to unwind. The fresh ai...  more »
  • If you are REALLY in to plants, then I suppose this is a good place to go. But we paid to get in and were not there long, there just isn't that much to see.  more »

  • Beautiful gardens. This place has a changing exhibit, so check the website to see what is going on. They usually have lots of live butterflies on exhibit in the spring. A little small for my taste but the entrance fee is low. Parking can sometimes be an issue.
  • Beautiful place to visit and look at different plant life from different regions. And for $4 it's totally worth it
  • Anyone who has a chance, go! Beautiful rooms and collections
  • A very cool visit! But I was expecting a bit more for the price of admission, especially after visiting the free art museum
  • Beautiful place but not worth the $4.00. This should be free to the public. Place is too small and saw everything under 10-15 minutes. Great place for the elders though.
