  • It's an OASIS (free) where you can choose from two routes, both on foot, one longer and one shorter. There are some very kind volunteers who advise which face; at the entrance you will find the maps and making sure you see big and small crocodiles and thousands of beautiful birds. Strongly recommend it especially as comparing the crowding of amusement parks and the peace of nature.

  • My wife and I live about 10 mins away and enjoy while driving by stopping in a few times each month. We take in how quite it is and of course checking what's crawling, flying or just perched. We've se...  more »

  • Tour offered that tells about the tiered pool system of water filtration and about the wildlife (notably the birds). There are trail maps and scattered benches. Restrooms and water fountain at the parking area but none on the trails so bring some...and sunscreen, a hat and binoculars. Winter is great to walk the forested nature areas that can be too wet in the rainy season from June to November. We saw many bald eagles, egrets, herons, wood storks, white and glossy ibis, rosette spoonbill, coots, ducks and more.
  • I had no idea this existed until a couple weeks ago. I suggest you schedule a tour as soon as possible. This is a fascinating man-made wetlands designed to clean waste water naturally, saving our Florida waterways and ecology. The amount of wildlife is stunning and the views are amazing. The tours themselves are fun and fact-filled. Every local should visit and if you are a tourist...add this to the top of your to-do list! You will not regret it! If you are photographer...this is a MUST visit!
  • Great way to see Florida wildlife in a natural habitat. We walked the birding trail and saw about 10 gators in 2 miles. Also, countless species of birds including bald eagles. Great free activity.
  • Beautiful area.. great for bird watching and learning about cleaning water through a natural system. We enjoyed our day.
  • Awesome trails. Grab a map and explore. You're basically guaranteed to see gators here, even more so on cold days. There are open trails (the main trails) and forested trails at the East side of the park. All man-made but beautiful.
