  • I love this park. Opened from Dusk to Dawn. Has a wonderful playground, swings, t-ball field, basketball and tennis courts. Of course Fort Christmas is most famous for the historical houses and Fort on the outskirts of the park. Great place to take everyone. During the first weekend of December there is the great 'Cracker Christmas' event. There is Indian Dances, tutor of houses, yummy southern food, and artist booths. I recommend getting pulled pork sandwich for lunch, kettle corn for snack and homemade ice cream or root beer float. Arrive early. If you happen to be in the year, they host events all year long so call to see what you can attend.
  • Usually when I visit Fort Christmas Park it is for a festival, but while driving by one day, I decided to stop in and walk around the old buildings. I never realized that each historic structure housed a mini-museum! Upon entering, the first building you come to is a visitor center adjacent to a cement parking lot, but beyond that the parking is in dirt (or they have the grass lot across the street during events). I enjoyed walking through each house and admiring the antiques/artifacts; from an array of old stoves to a collection of farming equipment. The fort itself was also a joy to walk around, despite the rain. Across from the log fortress was a modern playground and public restrooms. Fort Christmas Museum Park, in my opinion, is a great place to go with your family for a fun day out or get-together.
