  • The north rim is a beautiful drive. It does not have as many overlooks as the south rim drive but it is just as beautiful. It does have more ruins.
  • White House Ruin in Canyon de Chelly is Worth Visiting. We had a jeep tour and experienced many of he intriguing things including this ruin. We also hiked down. Both are worth it!
  • Almost all American Indians used it as a residence of the tents they dismantled and carried around while on the move. The Ansazi (called by the native Americans "the old ones") were building instead of stone villages in positions cramped and difficult to reach (if you want to see the top go to Mesa Verde). This is one of their most famous villages, nestled at the bottom of a vertical wall of rock smoothed. To see them up close or take a tour with jeeps or horses (managed by natives of the Park) or from the White House overlook walk the trail (White House trail: 3 miles, 2 hours to do it).
