  • The canyon del Muerto is located on the branch is left of the site, it is less known that Beautiful Valley or canyon of Chelly, branch of the Y to the right, which is open for tourist visits. It has two historic sites that one sees from the road that runs along the canyon, Mummy Cave, which is the cave where we found mummies in an old site, bring a good pair of binoculars, or have a good zoom, then Massacre cellar where, in 1805, a Spanish expedition killed 115 Navajos, children, women and old people were gathered on a rocky platform. Read the book "Indian Trail" Jean Pierre Besse, who made visiting so many times to the Navajos, and that tells the story of Canyon de Chelly. The Navajos are very hospitable, but he must talk to them.

  • The Canyon is the big brother in the West in nothing. Is just a bit smaller. Very very hot, but can be dangerous, because everything is open and there are no barriers.

  • Well worth a jeep tour to see the features and ruins and petroglyphs inside Canyon del Muerto. This is the other canyon...
