  • Well worth a jeep tour to see the features and ruins and petroglyphs inside Canyon del Muerto. This is the other canyon...
  • Canyon de Chelly is composed of 2 parts, the Canyon del Muerto representing the north side of Chelly and Canyon Monument which forms the South side. Considering the position of the Sun it is definitely better to make the Canyon del muerto in the morning (to keep the Sun at your back) to make beautiful pictures. The road is 15 miles long and there are 3 sights to stop: 1) Antelope House Overlook (seen on the ruins of the pueblo) 2) Mummy Cave Overlook (other ruins) 3) Massacre cave overlook (the site of a massacre of Indians) the view point 2 and 3 are down at the mouth of the same branch from the road (which divides by bringing in two terraces). Calculate 2 hours to complete the round calmly. Side note: Canyon de Chelly is the only park where you do not pay the entrance fee.

  • One of the most beautiful natural canyons we have ever seen. Absolutely stunning rock formations and color presented by nature's splendor.
