Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. was established in 1979 by homebrewers Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi in Chico, California, United States. Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale is the second best-selling craft beer in the United States, behind the Boston Beer Company's Samuel Adams Boston Lager. As of 2012, it is the seventh-largest brewing company in the United States. The brewery produced 786,000 barrels of beer (922,353 hectoliters) in 2010.The brewery was named "Green Business of the Year" by the United States Environmental Protection Agency in 2010 for its practices in sustainability.HistorySierra Nevada Brewing Co. was founded in 1979, with founders Ken Grossman and Paul Camusi expanding their homebrewing hobby into a brewery in Chico, California. Along with the brewery's location, Grossman claims the company's name comes from his love of hiking in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada. With $50,000 in loans from friends and family, Grossman and Camusi rented a 3000sqft warehouse and pieced together discarded dairy equipment and scrapyard metal to create their brewing equipment. They later were able to acquire second-hand copper brewing kettles from Germany before moving to their larger, current brewing facility in 1989.

  • Knowing already the beer from Italy, and being more or less of the neighborhood, we decided to stop for a snack with beer and chips. inside the restaurant trvovate a a rich menu of food and a wide selection of beers, of course he didn't exactly look like a craft brewery, became a pretty big brewery. In addition to the side trvate the shop where you can buy beer and gadgets, I personally I took a t-shirt and the bbq sauce. Recommended stop.

  • Great brewery tour and restaurant. Concerts with Buffett dinner or not. Concerts about $20. Buffet $15. Good time and food always

  • Not a bad spot to eat. Good food. Halibut was good (especially since I'm from S.L.O. Town), though gotta admit the Narwhal wasn't very good. I'm more of a Guiness man, so truthfully the Narwhal wasn't on point fellas sorry. Just my opinion. But other then that. FOOD WAS GOOD.
  • The brewery has an enormous tap room. The mass produced beers are good. But they always have a much better selection of their unique and interesting beer on tap here than you can find in stores.
  • I much prefer the service, atmosphere and food of 10 years ago - not the same brewery it used to be. After talking to several regulars, this seems to be the perspective of patrons ever since new management took over. Food quality and menu has really sunk. Used to be a favorite of mine but won't be coming back to the restaurant anytime soon. Probably shouldn't take 17 minutes to get a pitcher of beer at 3pm in the afternoon, or ever for that matter.
  • The restaurant is amazing, family friendly and this facility is one of a kind. I do wish they provided more menu options but what they do have is fully perfected. A local icon of Chico.
  • Fun tour, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly
