  • I love taking my young son to Chicago whenever we have the chance, but a trip typically involves debating how many big museums we can afford to visit, at maybe $50 a pop for the two of us; and whether...  read more »
  • The nature museum is an excellent place to take kids. It is not overly large and not crowded. The spectacular butterfly room is worth the modest admission price. Birds and butterflies circle all aroun...  read more »
  • I visited this museum with my husband and two boys ages 8 and 6. It's a little smaller than I expected but my boys loved it. There was an exhibit on weather and there were TVs that you could practice ...  read more »
  • One of the best places for Children in the city. There is so much to do. There is a large and interesting children's play area. Large focus on conservstion and sustainable pra tices. One of the largest butterfly habitats in the country. Amazing to go to the habitat in the winter and feel the warm air and see the butterflies. They have yoga classes there in the winter. The admission fees are also fair and cheap for the area. Parking can be very difficult during the summer. It is almost best to use their pay lot of the pay lot near Lincoln Park conservatory.
  • This place is not the largest, but the young kids love it here! They have a reptile and amphibian day upstairs, that you can hold or pet, that is once a week and almost always on our list. They have a great display of their own downstairs, and a small indoor play exhibit (for prek and younger) downstairs. Also, the view from their outdoor deck is wonderful any time of year, and you could catch a really great sunset there if you time it right!
  • I love this place so much. The butterflies are so beautiful, they can breathe and get some fresh air. It's a big place but, you can explore a lot of things in there, trust me!!! It is fun, the gift shop is fantastic, I recommend you take a family trip there
  • Fantastic nature museum, we had a very enjoyable afternoon here, the butterfly house is the main attraction, the only downside to our visit was the disability access. While there is no problem moving moving around inside the building the approach to the entrance is a very even surface and this continues into the lobby area were you purchase the tickets which makes using a wheelchair virtually impossible.
  • This is worth checking out at least once. It is very child oriented but you can enjoy it as an adult. The butterfly exhibit is excellent. It is very peaceful.
