  • Just so much to learn in such a relaxing environment. I like that their promo exhibits change out to keep me coming back and I notice something new in the regular exhibits whenever I return. The memberships are a great value and a weekly late night (Thursdays) is so helpful to accommodate a busy schedule. Last, but certainly not least, is the butterfly sanctuary. If I could just hang a hammock and take a nap in there one a week my life would be complete!
  • Chicago's oldest museum is located near the lake by several parks and paths. This is a lovely museum at a manageable scale. There are always a variety of family-friendly programs. Also, if you are a teacher, stop by the Teacher Resource Center for curriculum ideas, materials, workshops, and a great staff.
  • One of the best places for Children in the city. There is so much to do. There is a large and interesting children's play area. Large focus on conservstion and sustainable pra tices. One of the largest butterfly habitats in the country. Amazing to go to the habitat in the winter and feel the warm air and see the butterflies. They have yoga classes there in the winter. The admission fees are also fair and cheap for the area. Parking can be very difficult during the summer. It is almost best to use their pay lot of the pay lot near Lincoln Park conservatory.
  • This place is not the largest, but the young kids love it here! They have a reptile and amphibian day upstairs, that you can hold or pet, that is once a week and almost always on our list. They have a great display of their own downstairs, and a small indoor play exhibit (for prek and younger) downstairs. Also, the view from their outdoor deck is wonderful any time of year, and you could catch a really great sunset there if you time it right!
  • I love this place so much. The butterflies are so beautiful, they can breathe and get some fresh air. It's a big place but, you can explore a lot of things in there, trust me!!! It is fun, the gift shop is fantastic, I recommend you take a family trip there
