  • Cool place, really a brilliant view of the city and nearby buildings. I do not recommend visits to the windy days:)

  • Early April is not the best time for sunbathing, but seeing the beach from the John Hancock Observatory, we could not deny myself this short walk. Nice view of the surrounding buildings.

  • Oak Street Beach is very clean and well-maintained. There are always fun things going on here and it is great for the entire family. Because of its proximity to downtown, it can get extremely busy. Fo...  more »

  • This is our favorite beach. The proximity is excellent and you don't have to worry about a bunch of frat/sorority kids coming here. More of a relaxing beach that primarily only has city folk, no tourists or burbanites.
  • Ideal place to relax. Take a friend and sit by the water. Walk out north to the tip and see one of the best views of the city.
  • End of the Summer: Don't go. Staff was not engaged. Smell coming from bathrooms was awful. Mysterious leak coming through the southern end. Sit on the northern end if you must. Greenline was $12, which is ridiculous. Nachos sucked. Two stars for being outside on the beach.
  • It's very crowded here. Not really good for a relaxing beach trip, but good to go with a group of friends for social fun. You are bound to find another group to hang out with. Bring a football/ volleyball/ frisbee for a greater time. This beach does have large bathrooms
  • Nice place for sunbathing. Had fun riding the rental bikes on the paths to Navy Pier and Grant Park. There were a few detours and lots of foot traffic, but the views were priceless!
