  • Montrose Beach is beautiful! People were fishing on one end, others were jogging on the paths, there's 2 awesome spots for birding. We loved it! Only downside is that the bathrooms were closed during ...  more »
  • We happened to be in Chicago on a warm (62) sunny day in January. We wanted to get outside and Montrose Beach was the perfect place. Lots of great walking paths and beautiful scenery.  more »
  • We went by bicycle from Navy Pier to this beach called Montrose Beach, we had lunch there and then took the return. It's a long way but it was worth it. Wide Beach and beautiful views. The way to arrive is beautiful, a marina, a mill, other beaches, parks, geese and ducks can be seen in the passage. All very beautiful!

  • I come here mostly to run, and take in the views of Montrose Harbor, and Lake Michigan. Parking is great; along with the option to do many other things that are in the area. Me being a runner I'm attracted to Cricket Hill, and also the Track field, which is in short distance from Montrose Beach. One of the many peaceful places along the Lakefront where you can run, swim, tan, walk your dog, meditate, or read a book on one of the concrete benches along the outline of the beach. There is also an open area where you can play flag football, fly a kite, or throw your Frisbee. Located in between the beach and harbor there is a bike share pick up or drop off if you're interested in getting a bike ride in, but don't have a bike! Enjoy!
  • Beautiful views and panoramas of the city al the way to Evanston. Wildflower walking areas and lots of fields for soccer and other sports. Ample, feee parking too. Unfortunately it can be dirty at times because visitors don't clean up after themselves.
  • Great beach. Great view of the city. One of my favorite spots to hang out.
  • In my opinion this is the best beach in Chicago. I love coming here and relaxing. This beach has a much more family friendly environment and has a restaurant and bar near the water. The restroom is also nearby.
  • With food the best dog beach in America and a nice nature area all with more laid back rules than the other Chicago beaches Montrose really so far in my experience (and I've seen about 20 of Chicago's 32 beaches) it is the best beach in Chicago and I highly recommend coming here
