  • Came here while waiting for a table at Au Cheval (which I'm sure is a popular option).  We didn't get food, just beer, but the waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful about the beers and their chara...  read more »
  • In a neighborhood with a lot of good eating, this was pretty disappointing. We've loved this spot in the past, but the menu has changed. Not a good value at all. Portions are a bit stingy. You are a p...  read more »
  • Was here on my own on Sunday afternoon! Great beers! Some of the best I have had! My favorite was Matthias, so good! Very nice food and friendly staff as well!
  • Great micro beers tryed 8 ,all 7-9 rating , fod god also. Parking terrible. People friendly
  • Haymarket has great beers and a fairly large space. They brew on site too. The food here though is overpriced and generally lacking. Come for the beer but eat elsewhere. Gets crowded here quickly too.
  • This monument to the public house is fantastic for a beer and/or a game. The bar area is large enough to walk in at anytime and find a seat to watch one of many TV's playing the sporting event of the day. If the front bar doesn't have room, there is always the back bar, which is twice as big. Their beer selection is always changing and the cheap 4oz pours allow you to taste before selecting one of 12+ beers on tap (also including some guest appearances). The food is just OK. It is pub fare of burgers, sandwiches, etc., but there is a gluten free carrot cake, which most places cannot say. This is a great hang out for sporting events or to have a drink. The staff is friendly and atmosphere is lively.
  • Good beer selection and a big place with a lot of TVs. I liked a lot of the pale ales, IPAs, and imperials they brew. The Kreme colsh was also very good. I'll be back.
  • Terrible experience. We had a larger party of 15 or so and I informed the hostess when we walked in that people would filter in on their own. We were all separate parties and this was evident from the beginning. Midway through the dinner/drinks the waitress asked to close out our checks since her shift was ending (reasonable). But then she refused to split up the check. I know it's a "Chicago" thing but when we were clearly separate from the beginning, "refusing" to split seems unreasonable. Since everyone was standing/mingling and having a good time, I didn't have the heart to coordinate everyone's bill (what ought to be the restaurant's responsibility) so I paid for it myself. Food is ok, beers are excellent, service is poor.
