  • Did the Saturday morning tour and wasn't disappointed. Started with a 16 oz great beer "Tuna". Tour is 3 session of history of half acre and how beer is made. Very interesting but not your typical wal...  more »
  • Visited Half Acre numerous times in the past to try non-publicly released offerings of their craft. This trip was the first since they established their food menu and wasn't let down. Menu isn't large...  more »
  • If you've had Half Acre's beer before then it is worth a visit and if you haven't it's a great place to try it for the first time. Food selection isn't super expensive but everything is great.  more »

  • I have been purchasing growlers of beer for my 2 Millennial boys for a few years at the Half Acre store. This past weekend, I finally got to "step inside" the Tap Room. The Tap Room offers all their crafted brews which they sell in their store, on tap, hence the name. Tap Room also offers appetizers and light entrees. Several tables were enjoying a cookie sheet full of beefy nachos and cheese when we were there. Tap Room has a very limited amount of tables which quickly fill up as soon as they open. YEP! That's why I said I finally got to "step inside". It's taken me a few months cause they, are usually at capacity and you have to wait in a line outside waiting for someone to leave. Once the tables are filled, they allow a certain amount of patrons to stand around the room and drink beer. That's what we did...stood. I didn't get to try any of their food. I would've given Half Acre a higher rating except, I think I'm just a little too old for the place. But, my boys enjoy it ;) NOTE: Bring your ID's they card even before you enter the restaurant. Except they didn't card me, ugh, told you I was old :( Maybe, some day I'll give it another try or take a tour and get a private table, no wait ;)
  • The only place you can buy Half Acre Space IPA is right here on Lincoln Avenue. Don't underestimate the house brewed sodas however. The brewery offers weekly tours on Saturdays at 11 AM. They suggest arriving 30 minutes early. Burritos make up almost all of the items on the menu other than the appetizers, but they're exceptional burritos.
  • One of the best beer tours I have ever done. One of the founders personally told us about the founding of the brewery and it was more of a hangout than a tour. You get three big beers for ten dollars so you may want to eat breakfast before then (or not).
  • Half acre is probably the best brewery to visit in Chicago. I'm not sure if they do tours, but the drink list is usually pretty good. They also serve food, but I've never eaten here. If you are coming here for a rare bottle release, expect large lines. If you want to just enjoy the bar, you should know the line for the beer is separate, so make sure you skip ahead.
  • This place is great. They have a really cool taproom with beautiful woodwork and quirky decor. It's best to go at an obscure time because this place can get very packed and loud, but even at its busiest it's not too hard to find a beer and a spot to drink it. There's also a growler/bottle shop next door that sells all their merch and to-go brews.
