  • The view of Chicago from the riverwalk is absolutely stunning. There isn't much on the walk and it does all start to look the same after a while but you definitely need to at least do a portion of the...  more »

  • I enjoy the Riverwalk even in the rain. It seems a world away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. Great ambience and I felt safe.  more »

  • It's a charming place to take a walk and sit down for a drink or a bite while resting or just tanning. Restaurants bars and ice cream parlor will follow every one of your steps teasing you to sit down under the sun and enjoy a few moments next to the water. City Winery at the Chicago Riverwalk offers live band entertainment in the evening hours.
  • I feel like this is one of Chicago's "unseen/not well known" wonders. Literally all along the Chicago river, the Riverwalk is an amazing stretch of pathway full of restaurants, shops, and activities for all. Truly an awesome time for anyone, from families to groups of bar-goers.
  • I love being able to walk by the river over to the lake on my lunch break every day. There are lots of little huts that serve liquor on the end where you can go on the boat tours. The Riverwalk does get crowded on nice days, but it stretches so far that you are able to get away from the crowds if you keep walking.
  • I only saw it from an architectural river tour, but now that I know it is there I can't wait to go back and explore on foot. What a great addition to the city experience of the Chicago river!
  • It's opened for public even if its private property. It was shorter than I think but very Nice and clean. Good to take pictures along with river and downtown.

To discover the city from a comfortable base within walking distance of most tourist attractions, aim for one of the big chain hotels in the downtown area.
