  • We had a wedding of 200 people in the venue, surrounded by some of the most amazing artifacts. The venue was outstanding - second to none!  more »
  • Beautiful space filled with interesting and strange little collections. It's a fun place to spend a bit of time just wandering around.  more »
  • Easy access to excellent very beautiful artifacts, a little confused in IDs, many cool jewelry.

  • I cannot recommend this place enough. It is PACKED, just full or amazing things! If you need any element for a rehab: hardware, stained glass, cast iron grills, sinks = GOLD mine! Cast iron columns, foundry molds, industrial tables, wood ornaments, medicine cabinets, light fixtures, stair railing, enamel signs, furniture, cars- yes cars, industrial carts, work benches, cast iron tubs, cast iron table bases, doors, windows... everything and more! Coming from the east coast, the prices are similar to MD,VA,NJ, & NY, some items are more readily available in Chicago so they're actually much less. ( Iron registers and grates for example). Plan to get here early and plan 3-4 hours for all the floors and rooms. If you carefully look at everything 5-6hrs... I kid you not! Oh yes I forgot: old fountains, carved stone facade, marble fireplace surrounds, radiators, house numbers, door knobs ( Victorian, Craftsman, Eastlake, Gothic, Art Deco...etc), cabinet hardware, hinges, antique doorbell. DO NOT expect scrap yard prices, restore, goodwill, thrift store prices. These are carefully picked and displayed items. There is a lot of time spent and effort finding, gathering, negotiating prices, dismantling, transporting, cleaning (some things), pricing and staging. Keep this mind ;-)
  • Fun place to just roam around. Pricey. Ypu can get better prices online , but for one of a kind pieces it's great.
  • really great place to find hidden architectural treasures. Give yourself plenty of time to peruse . Great event space as well
  • This place is a ton of fun to wander through and explore the collection. Prices are wildly out of reach of the average consumer but that wasn't the point of our visit. The building itself is a marvel--it's a great space for events and looks to have converted and alleyway between two buildings into useful space and successfully merged those buildings.
  • This is a beautiful place. Their stock is well presented. The reason for low stars is prices are super high in my opinion. I'm no expert in old stuff and estimating cost.

Where to stay in Chicago

The Midwest's major center for business conventions, Chicago boasts many affordable places to stay, with most hotels located around the airport and the city's central business district. To discover the city from a comfortable base within walking distance of most tourist attractions, aim for one of the big chain hotels in the downtown area. If you're traveling on a limited budget and wish to get a deeper sense of Chicago's many diverse neighborhoods, consider staying away from the pricey city center and explore suburbs on a commuter train line for easy city access.
