  • Our 2nd stop of our camping adventure. We stayed overnight at Pocahontas State Park. We were able to drive around the park and pick our site as they do not take reservations for specific site number. ...  more »
  • Visited for the first time this past Sunday. A very enthusiastic ranger greeted us at the entrance, gave us a map and a couple recommendations on what to see. Hiked a couple of trails (and there are m...  more »
  • The trails here are well-maintained and there is great scenery along the way. Staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

  • The park itself was well maintained and offered convenient access to the facilities. The swimming pool however was a nightmare...there were large, rowdy groups openly using drugs, swearing and blaring music. Not what I want my 2 small daughters around! But again, let me emphasize how wonderful the park was.
  • great walking and bike trails. concerts are usually pretty good. check out the festivals that happen throughout the year
  • One of the best State Parks I've visited nationwide. Its a large park with a few thousand acres, lots of trails and a few lakes. Theres a nice swimming pool complex that brings lots of families in the summer. Many camping spots for tent campers & RVs. Site #1 was plenty long & flat for our 36ft w/ toad. I came for the trails; great singletrack, unidirectional, bike specific. And they have a laundry room ($1 per wash/dry)!
  • At $5 for parking this place is overpriced. Trails are poorly maintained. Pond was terrible, just terrible. #taxationistheft
  • Underutilized gem in chesterfield county. MT biking, hiking, canoe, fishing, equestrian, everything. Get the annual parking pass and take advantage. I am here 10+ times per month and see maybe 1 or 2 peaople each time max. Get up, get out people! Don't tiptoe safely to the end of your life! Get out there and do sonething!
