Where to stay in Cherokee

Cherokee has no shortage of hotels, motels, and inns. Accommodations range from basic and affordable to lavish and extremely expensive. A towering casino downtown offers many rooms, but rustic cabins and cottages are more characteristic of the area. These places offer mountain views as well as fully equipped kitchens and in-room fireplaces and hot tubs. If you wish to explore the Great Smoky Mountains on your own terms, consider one of the area's campgrounds. Most are full-service, featuring both trailer and tent sites as well as hot showers, electric hookups, and on-site grocery stores.

  • Beautiful island park. There are gazebos to use for picnics, birthday parties or just to sit and get out of sun. There is a walkway around the park and sand volleyball court. People fish here or tube and play or swim in the river.
  • It was a nice place to cool off. The water is clear and shallow and you can ride it on a pool float. I didnt like that there was trash and ciggarettes everywhere though and the very large garbage cans were over flowing it was NOT a clean, well maintained park like other reviews claim. The bathrooms were not clean and there are no drinking fountains or vending.
  • A great place for the kids to cool off and run out some energy. Bring your tubes too.
  • Great place to cool off and walk around. It's also free.
  • Clean and relaxing park. The bamboo forest is really neat.
