  • A lovely, well-maintained place for a stroll along the river. We watched several fisherman standing in the river, enjoyed seeing LOTS of ducks. Only disappointment: Dogs Not Allowed. Such a shame.
  • Wonderful place to picnic and enjoy the day, fishing, etc. wish the open air market hd been open but itvas raining.
  • This was the nicest thing to do in cherokee. After a long drive through the mountains. The rest in cherokee was very disapointed. But good enough to find your hotel here.
  • Gorgeous Park by the waters of a very beautiful river. The water is only waist deep on most people even during the rainy seasons unless it floods, so it is usually quite safe. It is a calm river where the islands are situated. A large promontory island juts out in the the center that has a lush green river cane forest. Beautiful no matter what the weather is like. It is very relaxing being here, and it feels like you could just stay here and the hours melt away.
  • The Islands Park can't be beat! The water is shallow enough for younger children, the bamboo forest is neat to walk through and the parking and bathroom are convenient. It's a beautiful place and amazing to think about the history of the river and the land surrounding it. We are thankful to live near this beautiful area!
  • Located in middle of town. So easy to find. Bridges over water in a few places so if 1 spot is crowded it is easy to go to another spot. You see kids playing in the water and people fishing also. Has shops, restaurants and hotels in easy walking distance.
  • We just spent the last few days playing at this wonderful location. Bought tubes and went floating down the river, just relaxed and collected river stones. We really enjoyed our trip. The cold water is really refreshing when it's so hot outside. Can't wait to go back.
  • Upper part of the river is great for tubing, lower half has an amazing island with a bamboo forest and calm areas to play in the water..
