  • This was my 1st time to lake Chelan state park. It was very beautiful. The park was clean,so we're the restrooms no problem there. I enjoyed my stay. I would say the only down fall is there is absolutely no privacy, camp sites so close together. I stayed on the beach loop site #63, so I can't speak for the sites at the other end. I ment to drive by to see if they offered more space. Otherwise I recommend a stay.
  • I reserved unit 39 for $38 for 1 night, which by their map showed beach access from the site. Yes, it had access, however other people were coming down the concrete steps to access the beach as well walking right by my campsite--no privacy. The other caveat was hiking about 50' down a paved hill and the steps to set up camp. Needless to say, I only took the bare minimum down the hill knowing I would eventually have to haul it all back. Yes, the website said you must haul your gear the 50' but I felt this was a little ridiculous. There was a parking spot for my SUV, however, it was in the direct sun from about 11:00 am on, so I had to put a sunshade in the windshield to make sure the interior didn't get too hot. And the beach access was giant boulders, not the sand I had envisioned. While there I saw a campsite that would have been more to my liking, #36. It was across the road, you can park the SUV in the drive and your tent would be in the shade right there.
  • Beautiful camp ground. Very popular in the peak season, so reserve on board January 1 at midnight to get a spot. Well-maintained restrooms. The showers require tokens, which you can buy with $1 or $5 bills at the "Camp Office" just past the registration booth on the right side. Showers say 3 minutes per token but actually vary from 2.5 to 3.5 minutes and warm water sometimes takes a while to get going so buy extra tokens. There is a camp store by the beach area that sells firewood bundles for $6, snacks, milkshakes, popsicle treats, etc. Swimming at the beach, no lifeguard - use caution and good sense.
  • The park is amazing, the lake view is breath taking, they have a small playground so if you bring your kids along they will enjoy it! The ride to the state park is equally interesting because of the beautiful views along the road.
  • Excellent views and playground. Primitive camp sites are nicely appointed with a table and fire ring, but a little expensive considering you also have to pay to get into the park. Would recommend a visit.
