  • Unique little museum that's worth a visit. Only one of its kind in the world! We spent a good hour here just looking around and reading the history throughout the museum. The staff member was very friendly as well. Starts with a video on some history, and then has a room filled with old towing trucks and where they came from. They also have a neat towing toy truck collection that's great for the kids to look at. Enjoyed our visit!
  • A fun place to visit if you have any love for history or trucks in general. To begin with they play you a movie that tells you an in depth history of tow trucks then your allowed thru an area filled with all sorts of different trucks, then a hall of drivers past, you exit into a kids area where children can operate a small wrecker boom. My son loved it and if we return to Chattanooga anytime soon I would love to visit again.
  • Yes, a smaller museum, but it does have a number of interesting exhibits (as long as motoring, there has been a need for help and tows at times). Good place to take kids so they can learn some respect for other professions.
  • People overlook the roadway Heros. While I do not operate these vehicles, they are as important as patrol cars, fire trucks, and ambulances. As an emergency service worker, I have had too depend on these folks to help me save lives. 99% of the time they are not needed till after everyone has received treatment, 1% of the time I have to have a tow vehicle to do my job. And they always step up and save the day. They are the silent hero's of transportation. Thank you driver/operators for what y'all do. Nothing but respect from me. As for the meusem, great example of the start of towing. And thank you for the memorial wall of fallen operators.
  • Very nice exhibits and friendly staff! Even a working kid's tow truck! Don't miss this little gem!

Where to stay in Chattanooga

Centrally located Chattanooga hotels offer comfortable rooms just a walk from the city's best shops, restaurants, and museums. Staying in the middle of everything can cost a bundle, so if you're traveling on a budget or simply prefer a bed and breakfast atmosphere, consider staying farther away from the central part of townwhile on holiday. Most budget-friendly inns located along the free electric shuttle route servicing the downtown area offer all the comforts of home at the fraction of the price charged by the big chains.
