Hamilton Place is an enclosed, two-story shopping mall in Chattanooga, Tennessee just off I-75. It was the largest shopping mall in the state of Tennessee from 1987 to 1998; at this time, it was superseded in size by Knoxville's West Town Mall. Hamilton Place is considered a sister property to Northgate Mall, located in nearby Hixson.HistoryThe mall opened to the public on August 5, 1987. The original anchors were Belk, Parisian, Loveman's, Regal Cinemas 9, and Sears. JCPenney and Hess's stores were added later, vacating their former locations at Eastgate Mall. Proffitt's acquired Loveman's in 1988. Proffitt's then acquired Hess's in 1992 creating the dual store location. In 1998, Belk "swapped" several mall locations throughout the southeast with Dillard's, thus exiting the Chattanooga market only to return in 2005 after its purchase of Proffitt's from Saks Incorporated. In 2006 Belk purchased Parisian, also from Saks Inc., and closed this location which would later become a Dillard's Men's, Children & Home store.

  • If you're a young teen with southern esque fashion, or an older woman than this place is alright. Otherwise it's just plainly not worth a visit. There's not much for the Americana, streetwear male fas...  read more »
  • It is good to see a vibrant mall in 2016. Malls are dying daily. It was clean and brightly lit. It is worth a visit.
  • had a great time at the foot massage therapy it was wonderful they did a great job,my wife felt much better when they got finished,a must try
  • My favorite mall since leaving California...San Diego to be exact. I love Chattanooga area with everything close by. Just on the border of Georgia is a Cabelas with a Bass Pro Shop one mile down the freeway as you go towards Chattanooga. I remember the movie as a kid...Chatanooga Choo Choo.
  • This is a great mall, our favorite in the Chattanooga area. Our son really likes the free indoor playground. There is a very nice Barnes and Noble bookstore here. The Victoria's Secret storefront is a bit over the top, but what can I say, they are all like that.
  • In an age when malls are dying, this one is still strong. The layout is nice and can easily be handled in one pass. Lively. The second floor is completely carpeted and feels better for a lot of walking. Many interesting places around the mall as well.
  • THE mall in the area. Not only was the mall itself the largest in the state for years after it was built, the area around it has continued to expand too. It is now like a smaller version of some Atlanta mall area shopping experience. Dozens of restaurants. Scores of specialty store. If you can't find it around here, you need to check online instead.
  • This is a great and beautiful shopping mall that you should totally go to (but only if you want to). It has a pretty food court and lots of stores. I spent a day with my mom here, and we be had a great time. Definitely the place to go on a shopping spree.
