Hamilton Place Mall, Chattanooga
(4.1/5 based on 85+ reviews on the web)
Hamilton Place is an enclosed, two-story shopping mall in Chattanooga, Tennessee just off I-75. It was the largest shopping mall in the state of Tennessee from 1987 to 1998; at this time, it was superseded in size by Knoxville's West Town Mall. Hamilton Place is considered a sister property to Northgate Mall, located in nearby Hixson.HistoryThe mall opened to the public on August 5, 1987. The original anchors were Belk, Parisian, Loveman's, Regal Cinemas 9, and Sears. JCPenney and Hess's stores were added later, vacating their former locations at Eastgate Mall. Proffitt's acquired Loveman's in 1988. Proffitt's then acquired Hess's in 1992 creating the dual store location. In 1998, Belk "swapped" several mall locations throughout the southeast with Dillard's, thus exiting the Chattanooga market only to return in 2005 after its purchase of Proffitt's from Saks Incorporated. In 2006 Belk purchased Parisian, also from Saks Inc., and closed this location which would later become a Dillard's Men's, Children & Home store.

  • Great stores and competent staff. Very crowded around holidays, which can't be helped. One annoyance is the free wifi on site. It is very slow and limits your connection time. The interior was remodeled a few years ago which gives the mall a modern look. Compare to its sister mall, Northgate and you'll see what I'm talking about.
  • Its a great shopping place! most of the stores have been there a while, others are always changing. you can bet on at least one restaurant and one store being under construction.
  • It's a great mall with a lot of stores. The only reason I took away a star is because the security guards are useless. My wife works at the mall and she and several other workers were scammed by the same person and the security guards didn't do anything to try to find the guy. But 90% of the time, the mall is great.
  • One of my daughter and mine's favorite places. So many stores, especially hot topic, make it easy to shop. Handicapped parking I'd easy and convenient.
  • This is a very good mall, which it should be as the showpiece for CBL malls. It is two stores tall, has a large number of stores, and is only held back from a 5-star rating by its lack of variety of anchor stores (I mean, really, who needs two Belk and two Dillard's locations in one mall when we could have a Macy's or something?).
