  • Historic house associated with the civil war, but is rarely open to the public. A couple of civil war civil war cannons. Great view of downtown. Trails behind the house that run along the sides of Lookout Mountain. Good place to watch birds, especially Warbles during spring migration.
  • Beautiful views and an abundance of history here! The house wasn't open for a tour while we were there, but we peeked in through the window on the front door. It's just below Point Park, which is another place worth seeing.
  • House only open on selected weekends in summer. Call park service ahead to discover when. Lots of explanatory signs to describe battle. Nice trails and easy walks help you picture how fighting swept around the mountain side from west to east. Original Civil war house destroyed during the war. This version was rebuilt directly afterwards
  • I liked this place a lot! The ranger on duty was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our parks service doesn't get enough funding though.
  • The address was completely off. My girlfriend and I decided to leave and go back home and as we were driving we stumbled upon Cravens house.
