Where to stay in Chattanooga

Centrally located Chattanooga hotels offer comfortable rooms just a walk from the city's best shops, restaurants, and museums. Staying in the middle of everything can cost a bundle, so if you're traveling on a budget or simply prefer a bed and breakfast atmosphere, consider staying farther away from the central part of townwhile on holiday. Most budget-friendly inns located along the free electric shuttle route servicing the downtown area offer all the comforts of home at the fraction of the price charged by the big chains.

  • We came in the other day to try some flights of whiskey. The whiskeys are bourbons at barrel and bottle proof and a white dog only available in the tasting room. When you order a flight, three small cocktails are also made for you. Neither of us was keen on the white dog particularly, and apparently it's a bit more random in the brewing/distilling process (we didn't take a tour). The bourbons were both enjoyable, and we especially found the cask strength to be a great example of ~frontier-style whiskey. Though the government prohibits distilleries from serving any alcohol not produced in house, the mixed drinks were great. I was especially baffled that a Manhattan cocktail could be made without vermouth and still be delicious. They partner with a local syrup producer. The whole staff was very pleasant, and we enjoyed the space. It appears to be primed to grow. Just note, while there are stills and barrels at this location, they now distill and store whiskey in a large off-site location to meet demand. Many bartending tools and ingredients are available for purchase, and the whiskey is competitively priced. Just note, not all the tools and whatnot they sell here are of superb quality -- they're just the least expensive items from Amazon purchased in bulk and resold inexpensively.
  • Saw a billboard from the highway on our way to Nashville, and decided to stop. We're thrilled we did. Not only was the whisky delicious, the area was beautiful! We will plan a visit to Chattanooga based on this last-minute, quick experience, and do the full Distillery tour as well!
  • Toby and Dan were outstanding. Both knew their product and what you should expect in the tasting! Great tour, truly a super small batch distillery!
  • Fun trip and very enjoyable distillery tour. Tour guides were very knowledgeable about craft distillation.
  • I had an excellent time, the tour was amazing and I'm totally on board with supporting this local distillery making Chattanooga Whiskey my whiskey of choice going forward.
