  • I come here every time I go to Georgia. Great hiking for all levels. A nice little beach and all the trails are dog friendly
  • Visited the park to hike some trails and enjoy the fall colors. We hiked the Gahuti trail wich was great with several views and cascade waterfalls (wich were dry today) and an abundance of color. The ...  more »

  • -Amazing nature and scenery. -Moderate to strenuous hike if you do the whole loop. -Convenient campgrounds with bathrooms and showers! Just beware that the park closes at 10PM so you cannot arrive and camp later than that. -There is spot of the lake where kids can safely swim. I can not forget the beauty and awesomeness of the surrounding forrest and the lake. Absolutely amazing.
  • We are pleased that we visited this park in Georgia as we traveled south from the Smoky Mountain National Park, because it was more colorful with fall colors and closer to Florida where we reside. The campground was a great place to stay allowing us to hike the trails in the park without driving long distances to get there. When we walked the roads near the lake we saw cabins in process of being build or referbished and they looked like a great place to stay if you didn't want to camp.
  • Great place to spend to day. Everything from hiking to relaxing in the beach. They rent kayaks. Nice picnic area with a play ground for the kids. The hike up to the Fire tower is completely worth it.
  • This is a great place to visit. We only had a short time to drive around, but I've stayed in the cabins before and it was a wonderful experience. The lake is great for fishing and there are a number of trails around the park for hiking and for Mountain Biking. Be sure to make the trip up to the "fort" and restored lookout tower at the top of the mountain. There is a large playground for the kids near the lake. The roads up to the mountain are pretty twisty. RV's seem to be able to make the climb without problem as there are a bunch of them in the campground. Be sure to stop at one of the overlooks and take in the view.
  • See the old fire tower and enjoy the nature in the national park. Be sure to meet the forest ranger. You will be enlightened before you leave.
