Where to stay in Charlottesville

Hotels and inns in Charlottesville's lively downtown area offer proximity to the city's main attractions, but they can be on the expensive side. There are several more inexpensive options located along or near Emmet Street, which is a short drive from the main thoroughfare. Alternatively, immerse yourself in local history by staying at a centuries-old bed and breakfast. Many of these establishments are complete with fine period furnishings.

  • A gentle 4 mile RT hike. It's a 2 mile to the turn around at Thomas Jefferson's home at Monticello. The walk goes over bridges, by a lake, and the scenery is serene. If you haven't done it, you need to!
  • One of the highlights of Charlottesville for locals and visitors. Perfectly maintained trails and gorgeous scenery!
