  • This is a cozy concert space. I've sat at many different angles over the years here in you pretty much get a good view no matter where you sit. The drinks and foods are on par with the movie theater as far as cost is concerned. Parking is usually pretty easy. My only complaint is really when you walk into the theater after being out in the lobby there's no lighting. So you have a hard time seeing where supposed to sit or go. It would be nice if they would do like movie theaters to put lights in the floor.
  • Before I go any further, I would like to commend the staff at Ovens. They are always helpful, polite, friendly, and seem to go above and beyond what they are asked. This review is not a reflection on the wonderful workers at Ovens! Ovens Auditorium hosts a lot of great events due to its size. I will honestly say, though, they I would prefer to drive a few hours to another city to see a show than deal with this venue. It is older, so the sound and lighting quality varies greatly by where one is seated. The seats themselves are reminiscent of a school auditorium. They are packed closely together so if a person is wide, he will find his flesh uncomfortably poked into armrests and touching his neighbor. If he is tall, he will spend a few hours doing a modified crunch with knees pushed towards chest by the seat in front of him.
  • Great staff, easy to park. Harder to get out, but we had an attendant stop traffic for us. Great customer service. The venue was nice inside. I did notice a couple of folding chairs, which would not be acceptable when you spend that much for tickets. Also it would be nice if they did not serve alcohol since some people cannot control themselves and ruin the show for others.
  • Went to Les Miserables last Thursday. Staff were friendly and helpful. First visit to this venue. Wow! The protocol needs work! What a hot mess! Late attendees were seated during the performance! At intermission, the bathrooms were overflowing with people. There was no warning that intermission was coming to an end. The lights went out and the curtain was raised! Yup! Then, the stampede of 100 some people standing in the isles in the rows scrambling to get to their seats IN THE DARK! Oh, and the doors kept opening to let in all the other late-comers (people who were standing in line to use the bathroom)! Technical difficulties. Mics were not all functioning. Overall sound quality was poor. Parking $8. ***Update. Friends went Friday night and received an email to remind them to arrive early or on time. Bathroom situation was still a fiasco. They saw lights flicker to warn them Intermission was coming to an end. Keep on improving, Ovens!
  • Great venue for a more intimate concert or show experience. We've seen Jerry Seinfeld here, Brain Candy Live, and the Smashing Pumpkins. Smashing Pumpkins concert was eh but that was their fault, not the auditorium. But it was a great venue for Seinfeld and Brain Candy. Even in the last row you feel close enough that you can see and hear what's going on. Only complaint: bathrooms need updating!!
