  • We spent a nice day at Rosedale plantation. We took a very informative tour and wandered the flowering gardens. A nice place to visit if you have a little time in Charlotte.  more »
  • We were there on a Tuesday so the home wasn't available for touring. The grounds were quite nice, though not really that extensive. Azaleas were in bloom and that was probably the highlight of the vis...  more »
  • A treasure in Charlotte on par with Hezikiah Alexander's 1774 home. Restored to 1815 condition with two of the most knowledgable people sharing it's history and ancestors. We began with a short video ...  more »

  • It is an absolutely beautiful house. The grandeur of its time . Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and told us quirky facts that made you familiar with the family. I would love to go back when it's not pouring rain
  • The Easter Egg Hunt was a rip off if you ask me. I paid 10.73 for my child to technically find eggs for 5-10 mins. I thought that because this was a paid event that there would be other things going on to get my money's worth. Because there was no refreshments or Easter bunny to take pictures with not even someone at least face painting, I assumed that my child can go all 3 rounds of the hunt. I was mistakenly wrong ( I guess I should have read it better). I was asked did I pay for all 3 and with the puzzled look on my face I replied no, I thought it was all 3 rounds. I left with the feelings that this should have been a free event because there was nothing special about it. I could have done this in my own backyard. 👎🏼 Was not impressed at all. The staff was nice. I guess that was the only plus.
  • Not what you would expect from a plantation. A total rip off in my view. For $12 each, you visit a small 200 year old house , that belonged to a tax collector who lost his property after just 4 years. The house was supposedly surrounded by acres of land, where they would grow corn. Their main business however was the smithy. The owner only seemed to have a couple of servants. The house is now surrounded by new constructions, car dealerships and roadside restaurants. The story surrounding this house and its owners is quite poor. They hardly have any historical evidence. The only great story would be the typical indiscretion of the owner with his servant. It is clear they are trying to make money to pay for repairs needed in the house. I wish I could be kinder, however I would advise visitors to spend their money elsewhere.
  • For those interested in seeing a bit of Charlotte's rich history, Historic Rosedale Plantation offers guided tours of an 1815 plantation home led by trained, knowledgeable guides. The house and grounds are also available for private events such as weddings, and special events are offered throughout the year.
  • Very informative guide and an overall neat experience.
