  • This was our first time in Charlotte and it was nice to take in some of the sights. This location provided a nice view of the area.  more »
  • One of the nicest airports- friendly staff, clean bathrooms, carpet for comfort, great food choices, well run!  more »
  • The overlook is essentially a parking lot nestled amongst some trees and grass alongside one of the Charlotte Douglas Airport runways. There is parking for probably 40 or so vehicles but typically is ...  more »

  • It's always a treat for my nephews when I bring them here. However it does get loud if your kids don't like loud noises. Still a beautiful place to watch planes take off and land.
  • Just a little flat spot with parking out and slightly above the airport runway. Interesting place for a visit but not a must see location.
  • An awesome spot to watch planes takeoff and land! You can get great photos of planes with the Charlotte skyline and soon-to-be-replaced control tower in the distance. Even better, bring food and have a picnic with the family!!
  • My #1 favorite free place in Charlotte. The only problem is that they should also have an Outlook on the west runway. I love to watch the planes up close. Nice place if any friends and family are leaving and also to just relax!
  • I wish it were just a little closer and had a better view of runway 36R. Still nice for photos.
