  • I hate that the museum closed but I was glad that the Alexander house was still there to tour. Really enjoyed the tour guide in period clothing. I would suggest anyone that likes history to stop by and see how life was before this country was formed.
  • We had a group visit the museum last weekend and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The staff was very helpful and there were a lot of interesting things to see. My son would not stop talking about the American Freedom Bell all afternoon! Definitely a must see in Charlotte TIP: be sure to ask about the guided tour of the house!
  • Take your time seeing the whole museum and you'll be impressed on how much you'll learn about Charlotte, a truly great American city. The photography exhibition was really well done. It was great to see how many musicians have traveled through Charlotte over the years.
  • History is for sure very interesting and this museum is a proof! There is so much to learn about Charlotte and its development in many centuries. You'll enjoy the exhibition inside the museum as. Well the the American bell, garden and houses behind. Make sure you check the weather before you go...
  • As a recent transplant to Charlotte, I learned a lot from the museum about the city that I now call home. The exhibits are well-done and the photography exhibit was especially nice. The museum is also now the home of the Olde Mecklenburg Genealogical Society. Before you leave, be sure to walk the beautiful grounds as well to see the American Freedom Bell and the Hezekiah Alexander House.
