  • This museum is well run, innovative in their programs and exhibits, and not to be missed. Off the beaten path, but well worth the trip out there.  more »

  • it was raining so we made a dash for the main house and didn't get to see the rest of the home but it was fascinating to see how life was compared to know very minimalist. It was cool to the see the diorama of Charlotte before all the big bank building in Uptown. The Different maps and histories were really insightful.
  • Museum is dated, but the personnel and guides are friendly and knowledgeable. The actual house and grounds are pretty neat.
  • Went there when closed on Monday, but even the outdoor areas were worth the visit. Nice place for a stroll too.
  • An absolutely fabulous place for a family to learn about Charlotte's history, as well as Mecklenburg County. Great for kids on a weekend or rainy day!
  • I hate that the museum closed but I was glad that the Alexander house was still there to tour. Really enjoyed the tour guide in period clothing. I would suggest anyone that likes history to stop by and see how life was before this country was formed.
