Be sure to stop by Charleston's Candy Kitchen for fresh & delicious pralines. Just follow the smell. They are oh so rich, but one bite and you'll be hooked.  more »

My kids were wide eyed as soon as we walked in and it really is a feast for the eyes. Beautiful and huge selection of classic candies and novelty candy. I can't fault them for anything, only that for ...  more »

Stopped here for dessert and I'm happy to say there were a lot of choices. I got the peanut butter cup and my husband got the chocolate covered pretzel. Both were really good.  more »

Candy candy candy! Tons of great choices. Sweets galore! You have to stop here. They have homemade fudge! Wife was a little disappointed because they don't have any gluten free fudge. The staff is really friendly though.

All I can say is wow. Customer service is impeccable. The food- oh my- I love this place, plus free samples?! A+ Savannah's Candy Kitchen, I'll be coming back soon.

I liked this candy store vs some of the other local stores. The jelly belly selection is better here. They have ice cream, chocolates, candy apples and Carmel popcorn made in the store. Ask for free samples!!! Well worth the money and trip.

Staff is always friendly and available to offer treats on a hot day. The candy is (mostly) made in house, and the fudge is where it's at. Be sure to bring your wallet, though, as this place will add up quickly.

Pralines are amazing!! They are pricey, but it hasn't stopped me from making a stop here a family tradition every time we visit Charleston.

Where to stay in Charleston

Charleston is serviced by dozens of local hotels and practically every major U.S. chain. Expect to pay top dollar for a room on the downtown peninsula, particularly if you wish to stay in one of the historic hotels. The upside of taking a room there is the proximity of all major attractions--you won't need a car to explore and enjoy your visit. Less expensive options are available in North Charleston, West Ashley, and Mount Pleasant, where you'll find all kinds of inns for the budget-conscious traveler.
