West Virginia State Museum, Charleston

I had the blessing of accompanying my sons on a field trip here. Such a great museum--very engaging and well thought out. Be sure to get a Student's Discovery Guide to complete as you go through the exhibits. The Museum Education Specialist, Nathan, was excellent! You can tell he loves his job and wants to share that love with others. All the other employees were friendly and helpful. Definitely want to return with the rest of my family.

Amazing! Truly amazing. We stopped by on a whim and we were blown away. This place is a must see. Give yourself a couple hours and you will not be disappointed. And it's free!

What a gem! I have been here several times and each time I learn something about my home state. Free and a must if visiting Charleston and interested in learning all about the Mountain State!!!

An outstanding museum that is right across from the Capital Building that features a walk through West Virginia history from the beginning to the present. Thousands of artifacts in dozens of scenes are displayed in hallways and rooms for you to meander through. Beautiful building and helpful employees add to the ambience.
