  • We have a tradition of hiking on January 1st, which, thankfully, state parks across the country have also adopted. So while in Santa Fe we sought out such a hike, and were directed to Cerrillos Hills ...  more »
  • Great scenery and a pleasant hike. Just make sure you have a hat and sunscreen as you will be out in the sun! 
  • Stopped by the vistor center, open 2-4 pm Enthusiastic volunteer explained the geology. Did a great hike to an overview. So glad we stopped

  • Great hikes for all difficulties. You can go for 10 minutes to see a great view of the town, or for 4 hours (strenuous) to see lots of amazing vistas. Wish I had more time to explore.
  • A lonely place off the main road Hwy 14. I have made several visit here seeking to observe a Road Runner - the bird. No luck. It is an interesting state park has hiking trails, picnic tables a nice flat road. Almost no birds because of the lack of water.
