  • My husband and I drove up to Symmes Chapel to watch the sunrise for my birthday in February. We arrived about thirty minutes before dawn and could see the lights of Greenville in the distance. It was ...  more »
  • I am not a religious person by any means and you don't need to be to feel how special this place is. The views are spectacular and you feel very much at piece here.  more »
  • I love this chapel. Whenever we come to DuPont, I have to see the sun rise at Pretty Place. I have a friend who has cancer, I texted him this is the closest physically an individual can be to Jesus wi...  more »
  • First of all if I could give this 0 stars I would. My fiancĂ© wanted to take me to see pretty place for the first time on an Sunday early afternoon. Unfortunately when we made it to the YMCA road there was a sign that someone was getting married and the chapel was going to be closed at 12 - even though the pretty place website said it was open for viewing today 10/23 from 7:30am - 4:30pm and closed for an event that evening. Since we drove almost 2 hours we decided to try and see the beautiful scenery before 12. When we finally made it to the gate at 11:45am We were turned away and told "sorry you can't go down there they are setting up for a wedding." Are you freaking kidding in me?! It was not 12 yet and who gets married on a Sunday afternoon? I'm planning a wedding myself but my venue doesn't inconvenience the public. I will not waste my time driving up the sickening turns to be disappointed like that again.
  • Was recommended by a local campground in NC and we were speechless! No matter whether you are a person of faith or not, the view and peaceful serenity of this place is magnificent! As a Christian, I can only say that this place honors our Creator (Jesus) in ways that can only be appreciated in person! A great place to sit and reflect on the wonders of creation itself!
  • On my bucket list and it did not it disappoint! The beautiful leaves of autumn were the icing!
  • This is a beautiful place to visit! Views are amazing! Great place to show your Faith to our one and only creator.
  • A bit of a drive but after seeing pictures I wanted to see it myself. Absolutely beautiful! It's breathe taking... pictures just don't do it justice!
