Where to stay in Cave City

Aside from theme hotels, such as the Wigwam Village Motel, there are also economy lodgings. Because the town was designed as a resort area, there are a large number of hotels relative to the town's population. Many of these accept walk-in guests.

  • Great visit. Staff was friendly and patient to guests not following directions. Bus driver was a fount of information.  more »
  • A blast from the past, a relic from 1969! What a treasure in a creepy, fun, interesting and unusual way!! An amazing collection, with a visit. Sadly many of the well done dioramas are in real disrepai...  more »
  • My boyfriend liked this place a whole more than I did...I would have given it a 3 rating, but would have given it more than that, so that's why I'm giving it a 4. There were some interesting exhibits.  more »

  • If you like Bass Pro Shops or Cabela's for the taxidermy, you'll absolutely adore this place. Aside from Mammoth Cave's self-guided tour, this was the best time we had as a family on the entire trip to Cave City. Economically priced. More animals than most zoos, guaranteed. And it's air conditioned! Taxidermy was very well done, and most of the exhibits, 30 years later, are still holding up quite nicely. Our most enjoyment was staring at the animals behind the glass, in awe of their sheer size and taking TONS of photographs. The gift shop was huge, had a lot of items to choose from for the collector... super cute t-shirts for kids. For a 30-minute tour, we spent around 1.5 hours here, going at our own pace. Wonderful experience!
  • Much bigger than it looks. Took about an hour to go through. Kids loved it. Great way to pass time before a cave tour
  • What a great little find. This was not listed in our hotel guide, we just happened to go out driving and found it by chance. No live animals but a very large and interesting collection of different animal and insect species.
  • Really amazing museum, and likely has been since the last update a decade or two ago. Neat place to take kids, but it shows its age.
  • My 3 kids 10,8,3 year olds loved it. It was alof bigger than I thought it would be well worth the money it was 30 for 2 adults and 3 kids.
