Caswell Beach is a small seaside town located on the eastern part of Oak Island in Brunswick County, North Carolina, and is adjacent to the North Carolina Baptist Assembly and the island's United States Coast Guard station. It was incorporated as a town in 1975. The population was 398 at the 2010 census. The Oak Island Lighthouse towers over the town, which now owns the structure. The Oak Island Golf Club, featuring an eighteen hole course designed by George Cobb, is the sole business located in the town.Caswell Beach is part of the Myrtle Beach metropolitan area.GeographyCaswell Beach is located at .According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 10.5km2. 7.6sqkm of it is land and 2.9km2 of it is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 370 people, 187 households, and 138 families residing in the town. The population density was 120.7 people per square mile (46.5/km²). There were 571 housing units at an average density of 186.3 per square mile (71.8/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.38% White, 0.54% African American, 0.54% Asian, and 0.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.81% of the population.
