  • This was such an interesting place. A lot of history and artifact. Learned the origin of many Castine townspeople. Museum keeper was so nice to let us tour this museum.  more »
  • Large collection now just east coast. Many southwest Indian, Alaskan and other cultures represented. Building is beautiful. Classes and exhibits in season.  more »
  • I dropped in this little museum while visiting Castine, expecting it to be somewhat pedestrian. To my surprise, the exhibits were most varied and entertaining. It is a real gem.  more »

  • Parents just returned from here. Fabulous! Better than the Native American Smithsonian Institute exhibit.
  • We enjoyed the house tour and the exploration of this small museum. House tour guide was very knowledgeable and very willing to answer any questions.
  • small museum. Worth a stop and fun for the kids. Treasure hunt for the family.
