Driving through the empty 200+ site campground, we could envision the crowds that are there during summer vacation and the noise and commotion that accompanies them. We were lucky to be there on a wee... read more »
The beach area was almost deserted but very beautiful and peaceful. Well worth a visit if you are in the area. I suspect it may be more crowded in the summer but October - great!
Have been coming here for years and this year was disappointed with disgusting bathrooms one extremely power hungry female ranger that is rude. Had the same site for years with double driveways and al... read more »
Older guy that works there was all put out because we arrived after 7. Gates close at 8. He stood there and waited me to get out of car and told me " ya got about 20 minutes" . It was 7:15. Oh and I am disabled. THE NEXT thing he says is," do you think you can get down there and back and then drive car to gate before 8". Rude much. I said, uh yeah. He continued to harass. I just wanted a picnic for 30 min. Love the lake and land, ruined by grumpy old man.
Hands down, the best campground around. Large sites right on the water and plenty of tree coverage. Not your typical grid of campsites in a lot, the sites are all different shapes and sizes and the tree coverage adds a little extra privacy. There's boat ramp access in the Witches Cove campground and the Songo River is nearby, which connects Sebago Lake to Long Lake. There's a few nice restaurants in Downtown Naples and 3 golf courses in close proximity. My family has been going here since 1959 and over the years we have added a ton of friends to our group who will be taking their families up for years to come. I can't say enough great things about this place. It's the one vacation I look forward to every year and I will never go a year without visiting Sebago. I will always have a special place in my heart for Sebago Lake State Park. F*ck the yuppies at Point Sebago and F*ck Hampton, Hampton's junk!!!!
Lake swimming. Shade. Sand. These are requirements for me to have fun outdoors. Sebago Lake State Park is perfect for kids because the water stays shallow even far off the shore. There are lots of picnic tables right near the water, but the sandbar is the best.
My calming happy place to wash off the other 50 weeks of dealing with society at their worst. 32 yrs of civil service, thanks to Witch Cove.
Paid for a boat launch 10.00 and said we'd like to use the beach, paid another 12.00. We launched found the sand bar, found the camping beach, never found the state Park beach we paid for till the end of the day. You cannot dock a boat there so we never went. A map would have been helpful along with information about the beach versus the beach.
