On the front range of the Rocky Mountains, Pikes Peak - America's Mountain stands as one of Colorado's 53 '14ers'--mountains rising more than 14,000 ft (4,300 m). Visitor centers are located at 9.7 km (6 mi), 19.3 km (12 mi), and the peak's summit. These offer information, gift shops, and restaurants. To get to the summit, travel by car or train. The attraction's highway is notable for its dangerous twists and turns, as well as its unpaved, winding ascent on the last push up to the peak--but experienced drivers will enjoy the challenge. Or consider a ride on the Manitou and Pikes Peak Railway, which takes you to the summit on a historical set of tracks. Great scenic drive to the top with wonderful views and well maintained roads! The new Summit Complex is very nice and has friendly staff and great customer service. My wife had lost her ring, and we were able to speak with Melissa and Alex at the gift shop. They were holding onto my wife's ring! Thanks to the kind and honest person who found it and turned it in! :) This truly is a blessing and Pikes Peak is a wonderful tourist attraction!

Wow, What Can I say .. Dream come True

Holy Toledo. What a ride up! It really seemed like we were going straight into the clouds then the road would switch back and we could see land again. Amazing views during a recent research trip. My Hawthorn Lake novel series is set here!

Drove up the mountain for my birthday. The drive was beautiful. The summit house had pretty great food and views. A storm rolled through and the rangers made sure we were safe and then made sure everyone knew how to get down safe. Staff at the summit house were super nice and helpful. Be sure to drink water more than you think. Was very fun.

Nice drive, beautiful day. Lot of people, but everything seemed to work okay. Purchase tickets ahead of time, makes the line move better. If you are not comfortable driving at one of the limits of your vehicle, 1st or 2nd gear speeds coming down, no guardrails in a lot of places, etc., take the train!
