  • Awesome. Make sure to get the donuts. The top was closed off do to wind, but, we waited and they cleared everyone to go up. We drove and loved it. If you have a nissan set you gears to D's and overdrive off on your way down.
  • We got up early to get to Pikes Peak, and wound up at the gate before it opened, only 5th or so in line. The drive up to the summit is spectacular in multiple ways, as you cross through a variety of ecosystems and climates. Signs along the way keep you up to date on your elevation and there are a couple of exciting places where the road goes steeply uphill and around a corner, looking like it just drops right off the edge. At the top, the wind was blowing incredibly forcefully, and a ranger told us that it was -6 degrees with windchill! The summit has spectacular 360 degree views, and we enjoyed watching the cog railway arrive at the top.
  • Outstanding experience. We rode the COG train the week of Christmas. Was sold out online but we were able to get seats by walking up to the counter. The ride up was breathtaking. The summit was very cold and windy. The day we went the doughnut machine was broken but we did get some free not so great doughnuts. My only suggestion is don't drink too much liquid at the summit... there is no restroom for the 1.5 hour ride back down. Highly recommend.
  • Amazing. We went through a jeep tour company that drove us to the Summit. So glad we did that, instead of driving ourselves. It's a very scary drive! Take it slow and stop for breaks each time you can so you can get used to the altitude and oxygen changes.
  • Insane views!! The drive up is brrathtaking!! After the 15 mile marker it gets intense. I will remember that experience for the rest of my life!
