  • Park is set in a beautiful area surrounded by woods and water but the campground restroom facilities really need updating badly. The money spent on the new so called luxury camp sites should have been...  read more »
  • Nice state park right on water -pretty site difficult parking with 29" 5th wheel great location to nearby tourist sites bathrooms & showers surprisingly outdated, small, and in dire need of upgrading.
  • Beautiful trails and a well organized list to use for geocaching. I would love to spend another day here exploring. We hiked 11 miles yesterday and loved every minute. Don't miss a visit to this park.
  • Many families come year after year, some for decades. That says a lot about the beauty and uniqueness of the park. Terrific clear water and hard sandy bottom as far out as you could care to swim, multiple trails and miles of unadulterated beaches. Fantastic night skies, next door to an international dark sky park. One of our absolute favorite places to visit and relax. This park offers all the best of Michigan's natural wonders. It is not a high tech modern example of an RV resort, it is simply a place of unbelievable beauty that has been set aside for public use.
  • We found Petoskey stones. The water was perfect. Great breeze off the big lake for flying the kite. One of my favorite state parks. Make your reservation early, to get a camp site just off the beach.
  • We stayed in the new rustic addition that opened spring of 2016. We booked campsite X. By far this campsite was one of the best. The sites are small but you have wonderful views of Lake Michigan and just a short stroll from your site to a great beach. Campsite Y was also lakefront and very nice.
  • Wilderness State Park is a massive forest that you could spend days exploring. There are miles of hiking trails, shorelines and beaches, and a year round campground. A convenience store is in the middle of the park for servicing your snacks, beer, and ice needs. Just down the road is the Headlands Mackinac Dark Sky park if you want to see a night sky that would never get in the city. The dark sky park is open 24/7/365 and is free admission. Highly recommended you tour Wilderness Park and the dark sky park.
  • If you want to disconnect from the fast paced life, this is for you. Steps away from the miles long beach, crystal water, wooded trails. Camped for 7 days. The only negative is the older campgrounds have unpaved roads. Aweful dust from passing vehicles. Good news, it supposed be paved by 2017.
