  • Went to Carolina Beach for the first time and will definitely be going back to this particular area. It's convenient and fun to park with the other 4x4s and is and short and easy drive off of the main...  read more »
  • My family and I love driving out on the beach and being able to just unpack without having to lug everything from a hotel room.
  • Had a wonderful time living on the beach. Beach gets a little crowded but everyone was nice. Will go back that's for sure
  • Good for the novelty of being able to drive on the beach, and that's about it. Crowded, like a parking lot on the beach with cars literally side by side during summer weekends. Campsites are small and close together. Sites are dirty. At night crowds clear out but guess what? It gets much worse at night. This park allows alcohol so guess what. Noisy drunkards speeding up and down the beach hooting and hollering during quiet hours swerving right next to your campsite to "test the capability" of their off road rigs. We had one truck with 5 drunks blast their ethnic music not 50 ft from our campsite at midnight, quiet hours are 11pm on. They burnt a fire directly on the sand using toxic construction scraps. Regulations state you need an enclosed fire pit. We had to call the police, and when the police arrived, they only asked them to leave and promptly left themselves. Well needless to say the drunks did not put out their fire and turned the music back to full blast now at 1am. Had to call the police again and they didn't come back until 3am. I stayed up to make sure my family was safe while these idiots partied by taking off their clothes and dancing around the fire. When the police came back, not sure if they ticketed them or not but they finally left, leaving there fire pit and beer cans all over the beach. Not family friendly at all. I will never come back, even during the daytime. This place is a total dump and attracts the wrong crowd. Think spring break atmosphere.
  • Once was enough. The beach is beautiful and clean. It is very poorly managed. I saw several ladies with kids get stuck in the sand. The staff drove by numerous times and offered no kind of help and showed no concern in the least for their guests.
  • This place was a 5 star plus some before the town took control and turned it into a pay a lot of money heavily policed tourist trap. 10 years ago and before it was quite literally a rare gem of few people where nobody bothered you and you could relax on a beautiful stretch of sand. It still has my favorite 4x4 only cove where the beach meets the ICW anywhere...but heavy policing due to heavy traffic took its toll on what was a really magical little kinda secret beach spot.
  • I love to go out in the early morning and watch the sunrise on a clear day. Anytime of the year I enjoy going out, during the winter make a nice fire and the summer just sit out in the sun. The people are friendly but always make sure you use 4 low or you will get stuck.
  • They have terrible customer service. Nowhere on our camping permit or the reservation site did it say no trailers, so we had no idea you were not allowed to bring them. When we get there the parking guy is very rude about our trailer right of the bat. He will not tell us who we can speak to about a refund for our trip and was antagonistic. The city needs to contract with a different management company.
