  • All the cheese, all the time and wine galore and crackers and cheese. Lots of it, rare and common, unusual and familiar. Served up with a smile by cheese fanatics.

  • Hands down my favorite place to go for cheese! Also, a MUST for Carmel! I come here every time I am in the area. They have so many varieties of cheese from everywhere! Local to international. They have at least 10 types of Gouda alone! (Gouda is my fave.) And I'm willing to bet they have cheese you've never heard of or seen before. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and educated to help you find exactly what you're looking for. All you need to do is tell them what cheese you're looking for or what kinds/flavors/descriptions of cheese you want and they'll find it! A couple of my faves are: Double Cream Gouda, Honey Bee, Abbaye de Belloc, Old Quebec Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, Truffle Noir, Cave Aged Guyere, Herb Gouda, Pescorino Toscano......I can keep going, but I'll stop there... Summary: If you love HAVE to go here!!!
  • If you love Cheese then you need to go to The Cheese Shop. The staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting. I have been there for hours before just tasting the different cheeses that they have and I always leave with a great variety to bring home. If you have had a long day and some want to think about choosing something, go to the back of the store and roll the dice at The Owner's Choice. The owner will then pick a wine and cheese pairing for you of his choosing & it is always good as he knows his wine and especially his cheeses.
  • This place is awesome. It was our first time here and we immediately got a sampling of an endless number of unique cheeses! The friendly guy helping us just kept recommending more cheese until we eventually told him we were cheesed out, but that was after probably 10 different kinds. There was a honey cheese, a whiskey cheese, some berry cheeses. Even after all that, he didn't pressure us at all to buy, but of course we bought some of our favorites. Definitely coming back.
  • Very nice shop. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Stop by and try some samples and perhaps find something you like.
  • To the wonderful dude who was SO ENTHUSED to show me every kind of delicious cheese he knew (I was the gal in the raccoon hat and "mama bear" sweater).....thank you for selling me fromage d'affinios. Thank you thank you thank you - my partner and I loved it. You knew everything. You have found your calling. Thank you for improving my life with this cheese!
