Point Lobos State Reserve, Carmel

4.8
Appreciate the pristine natural landscape and thriving habitat of the California coast at Point Lobos State Reserve. The nature reserve is home to hundreds of native animal and plant species on and off shore, and is an ideal location for hiking, diving, and bird watching. Enjoy panoramic views from the shore of the Pacific coast as you spot sea lions, harbor seals, and orcas, or hike through the lush vegetation on one of the reserve’s many foot trails for sightings of forest animals and local birds. On your way out, stop by the Whaler’s Cabin Museum to learn more about the history of whaling on the Monterey Peninsula. • Very scenic, short trail! Definitely check it out if you driving through high way one. It is $10 to get to the park. Also don’t forget to keep your ticket, it will work for other state parks in your way!
  • Cold cold cold!!! Please make sure you check the weather before your plan. It was 81 F in San Jose but 61 F cloudy weather in Pont Lobos. If you like nature and exercising, it would be great experience. It is nice trail and beautiful sea view for relaxation. I strongly suggest to put it in your plan. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and take snacks. There isn't any restaurant inside the area, it is trail. The parking fee is 10$ and they do accept credit card too. You can park outside to avoid paying parking fee.
  • Simply beautiful. Most trails are easy to walk and some areas have ADA access. The place is a visual feast :)
  • Very beautiful sceneries. The trail is so lovely too. You can see harbor seals swimming down in the water. Pay 10$ and you can drive into the park till the parking lots close to the points. There are 4 parking lots along the over-two-miles way in.
  • Not finished it because they were going to close see you soon ok

Most accommodations in Carmel sit inland, around the historical center. Most of these line the town's two major streets--Ocean Avenue and San Carlos Street--where you can choose from a range of independent inns, whose decor and ambiance captures the artistic reputation that has long been associated with Carmel. You can expect complimentary breakfast at most options in this area, from which you can reach the town's iconic beach on foot.
