Ocean Avenue in Carmel has changed a lot over the last 30 years we've been visiting here. Now there are more coffee outlets and bakeries, and a lot more T-Shirt sellers than there used to be, catering... read more »

Giving this place a three star because the crab cakes were AWESOME! After that our dinner experience went downhill. We researched and read on places to eat and this place was highly recommended. I was hoping for some gush but nothing on the menu sounded great. Unfortunately I didn't understand what our waiter said the special was and found out after that it was the swordfish wish I really wish I would have got. My wife ended up with the saffron pasta whichever was honestly TERRIBLE. Saffron was way too strong, the sauce was not good at all in the chicken was very bland and tough. Need to try this place again to give it a chance but I will probably never do that with the amount of other wonderful eating establishments in the area.
I had the grilled artichoke chicken salad and it was delish. The waiter took the time to check ingredients for me since I have some food sensitivities. It has a very pleasant atmosphere.
Every time we go to Carmel, we make sure to eat at the Grill. Their food is excellent and service is outstanding. We have NEVER been disappointed with our selection. We definately recomend this place.
Are you kidding me?!? I've eaten all over the country and The Grill restaurant is a special place. Food: great. Service: even better (ask for Heather!). You won't be disappointed and you'll be back again.
Stumbled by this place while wandering through Carmel looking for somethign to eat. We were ushered to a lovely seat by the window and quickly took to our crayons and paper tablecloth. The decor and maitre de of this establishment did not lend itself to the type of place that had crayons and paper table cloths but there it was! The menu was limited enough for a vegetarian. I opted for the angus burger and my partner for the Chinese salad. Both meals were really good and difficult to finish due to their size and the fact that we were first offered a bread basket which we didn't hesitate in taking. Toilets were clean but I should really remove the plural as there wa sonly one stall for ladies and it contained the sink and mirror too. Pro Tip restaurants... if you are going to have your ladies wait out in the hall, can you at least make it so the stall is for one purpose only, and the sink and mirror is elsewhere? Staff were friendly, drinks were topped up and everything was satisfactory.
