  • You can either picnic under the pavilion or find your spot on a rock. There's a long path you follow and can hike around the entire lake. The trails are clear and safe. It's a beautiful park. There's ...  more »

  • They list cars online that are no longer in their show room because they are the best cars that they had. They tell you they have the Cars to get you there. Drove an hour and a half to get there after calling to make sure the car was there. Only to be told it was sold. Most of their cars are banged up and repainted cheaply and overpriced.
  • Great place to go to find peace and quiet from nyc. Highly recommend to go! Ticket to enter the park is around $7
  • Lovely walk around here. So much to do, and so many awesome sights to see! We hammocked in the woods too and loved it!
  • Originally our destination was FDR pool w/family. DUE TO IT BEING CLOSED FOR SERVICE 😠We were directed to this park or bear mountain (happy camper we are)!! SO GLAD WE CAME HERE FIRST TIME IT'S QUIET CLEAN AND WE HAVE PICNIC TABLES N GRILLS BY THE BEACH.. This will definitely be the new spot love it!!
  • This park is chock full of lovely hikes and beautiful scenery- both for the novice and for the pro. Pelton Pond is an easy loop near the park office, with BBQ site and picnic tables close to the entrance. The parks website has a nice virtual tour of Canopus Lake, the "jewel of Fahnestock", so you can "know before you go". Also, Taconic Outdoor Education Center, located within the park offers programs and lodging throughout the year. I have also added photos of the maps provided to visitors at the park office, highlighting camping and hiking options.
