  • As we have in the past, we stayed at the Black Bear Casino & Hotel the night before going on a fishing charter out of the Duluth harbor. It's 1/2 hr drive from there to the Duluth harbor, which is bet...  more »
  • Most of their employees need to learn some manners. The Cobalt lounge had the rudest bartenders I have ever encountered. I mean EVER. Surly, snappish, just made me wonder how they keep their jobs.  more »

  • I recently stayed the evening for the cage fighting event Black Bear held at the otter creek event center. Everything was amazing! Great venue, good food, drinks, and awesome gaming. The only thing I wish they had better air circulation in the hallway by the event center. I had to use the restroom at intermission and to many people smoking in a confined area made it difficult for this non smoker with asthma to enjoy the second half of the show. But thank you for having good air flow in the gaming area and no smoking in the event center!
  • On my way back home, we stopped at Black Bear Casino Resort for the buffet. There was a slight line, but the wait was well worth it. Excellent buffet, with a large variety of foods, all of which were very good. For the price, it is one of the best dinning experiences I have had. Am definitely adding it to my list of places to eat!
  • I could eat every meal at their buffet! If I lived nearby I probably would. The food is fresh, hot (or cold) and the selection is vast. Staff check on everything constantly, walking around the inside of circle-shaped buffets. And what a relief that no smoking is allowed in the restaurant. Like going to Las Vegas but with friendlier people!
  • Black Bear was very accommodating when it came to the room. The staff was very knowledgeable about the workings of the facility and the buffet was on point. Great food and service all around. The casino is where I spent most of my time. There were 2 underage students who were drunk but security took care of the issue in a reasonable time frame. The whole establishment seemed to run like a well oiled machine
  • I go the the golf course a couple of times each season. The facilities are fantastic, I can't say enough good things, definitely one of the best golf courses in the area. The staff definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Most of them don't really seem like they want to be there, they seem annoyed when then have to help you/ sell you something, and there is zero amount of friendliness.
