  • The ranch is not too big and you can walk through it easily. The best part is looking for the peacocks. It's a hidden gem in Carlsbad.  more »

  • It's a beautiful park with an old world feel smack in the middle of suburbia. It's really just an old ranch, with a house, a pool house, and some very pretty gardens and lots of succulents and cactai. We took family pictures there that turned out beautifully, and took our kids to a Christian tree lighting which was Such a great event to bring our little ones. The only issue that I have with this place is that they normally close at 5pm. Not only that, but they start kicking people out well before, and I'm sure it's not all of them, but two so far have been a bit rude about us leaving quickly enough even at 4:45. To be fair all other volunteers and employees have been very courteous and cheery.
  • I attended for a wedding. It is nice but to stand outside for a single bathroom while attending a nice wedding was uncomfortable and odd. There were no outdoor heaters and we all almost froze. They food was awful but the setting is beautiful.
  • Great place to visit for an hour or so. A hidden gem in Carlsbad. The peacocks don't like hot weather so don't go looking for them in the middle if the afternoon.
  • I was happily surprised by the quality of this ranch/park! Great place to go spend a couple hours. All very easy to walk paths around the various buildings with beautiful plants and buildings!
  • Lived here 20 years and I never knew it so close to me. I went on the Fourth of July, just a small crowd of people there. It's a little jewel of movie town history. So peaceful to walk the grounds and imagine what it was like back then. The docents were very helpful and knowledgeable.
